Currently serving as the National Executive Member of BJP Mahila Morcha, Dahiya has played a vital role in party-building initiatives such as the Rashtriya Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024, Samasarta Abhiyan, and Poshan Abhiyan at the national level. As Coordinator of Malviya Nagar Vidhan Sabha during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, she worked tirelessly to mobilize voters, which contributed significantly to the party’s victory.

Her commitment to organization-building is evident—under her leadership, thousands of women across eight states joined the BJP, while she single-handedly enrolled over 15,000 members in South Delhi, one of the highest individual achievements in the campaign.

She led protests against the Delhi government over VAT hikes on fuel and actively supported MCD workers in their agitation for pending salaries. A dedicated activist, she has consistently raised her voice against AAP MLA Somnath in Malviya Nagar for the past decade.

Her involvement extends beyond politics—she has organized blood donation camps, tree plantation drives, anti-dowry campaigns, and awareness programs against female foeticide. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she distributed sanitizers, masks, food, and fruits in her constituency, showcasing her humanitarian spirit.

Additionally, she has represented her institutions in drama, debates, essay writing, and excelled in sports, winning gold medals in badminton, basketball, volleyball, and table tennis at various levels.

Personal Life

Born on October 5, 1963, Sumitra Dahiya holds a Master’s degree and B.Ed. from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. She is married to Prof. H.P. Dahiya, former Head of the Chemistry Department at MDU Rohtak and currently a government-nominated member of IIS University, Jaipur.
