Motihari : A major incident of armed robbery has been reported from Motihari, where unidentified assailants looted approximately ₹5 lakh from a CSP (Customer Service Point) operator and shot him during the robbery attempt. The incident occurred near Jamunia village under Pipra police station area.
According to reports, the victim, Aniruddh Kumar, a resident of Piprakothi and CSP operator, was en route to his center at Jamunia village early this morning. He was traveling in his car, carrying ₹5 lakh in cash, a signed chequebook, and a laptop.
As he approached Jamunia village, two motorcycles carrying armed criminals intercepted his vehicle. The assailants broke the car windows, threatened him at gunpoint, and forcibly took away the cash, chequebook, and laptop. When Aniruddh resisted, the robbers opened fire, injuring him in the arm.
The assailants managed to flee the scene before the police arrived. Locals immediately alerted the authorities. A police team reached the location and has launched an investigation into the matter. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Aniruddh Kumar was quickly taken to a private hospital in the city where he is currently undergoing treatment. Police officials have confirmed that they are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas and collecting testimonies to trace the attackers.
This incident has sparked concern over rising criminal activities in the region, and residents are urging the administration to increase patrolling and ensure better safety for financial operators and civilians.
