Aurangabad Murder Shock: Village Head’s Relative Gunned Down Near Nabiganj Station

Aurangabad, Bihar: A shocking incident of targeted killing has stirred fear and anger in Aurangabad district. On Wednesday evening, unidentified assailants gunned down 25-year-old Priyanshu Singh alias "Chhotu", cousin of Ambreesh Pradhan—the elected Mukhia (village head) of Belai Panchayat in Nabiganj block.

Victim Was Returning from Varanasi

According to reports, Priyanshu had returned from Varanasi and was riding home on a motorcycle with two acquaintances. As the trio passed between Lembo Khap and Deoraj Bigaha villages, two bike-borne criminals intercepted them and shot Priyanshu at point-blank range in the head. The victim died on the spot.

Local villagers quickly informed the police, who rushed to the scene and transported the body to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared Priyanshu dead upon arrival. The body was then sent for a post-mortem examination.

Motive Behind the Murder Still Unclear

The most troubling aspect of the incident is the lack of clarity surrounding the motive. Police have yet to identify the attackers or determine why Priyanshu was targeted. Locals have raised serious concerns about the inefficiency of law enforcement and intelligence gathering in the region.

Sources close to the family disclosed that Priyanshu had married just a month ago, adding an even more tragic dimension to the case. His wife, hailing from Ghuranand village, is reportedly in a state of deep shock.
