New Delhi: The Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) Elections 2025 have taken a dramatic turn as NSUI presidential candidate Joslyn Nandita Chaudhary leveled serious allegations of vote rigging against ABVP.

Joslyn claimed that during polling at Hansraj College and Kirori Mal College, EVM machines were found with blue ink already marked in front of ABVP candidate Aryan Mann’s name. “This is open vote theft. ABVP is colluding with college authorities,” she alleged.

She further charged that goons and miscreants were deployed outside colleges to intimidate her supporters and NSUI workers. “Is the police administration blind and sleeping?” Joslyn questioned.

52 Colleges Voting Amid Tight Security

Over 2.75 lakh students are eligible to cast their votes this year. The polling is being conducted in two phases: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm for day scholars and 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm for evening college students.

The university has set up 700 EVMs across 155 polling booths in 52 colleges. More than 600 police personnel are deployed, including 160 officers equipped with body cameras. The campus is also under CCTV surveillance and drone monitoring.

Who’s in the Fray?

  • ABVP: Aryan Mann (Bahadurgarh) – promises metro pass subsidy, free Wi-Fi, and sports facilities.
  • NSUI: Joslyn Nandita Chaudhary (Buddhist Studies) – promises hostels and safety measures.
  • Independent: Umanshi Lamba.
  • SFI–AISA Alliance: Anjali (Indraprastha College) – promises gender sensitization, fee rollback, and grievance redressal mechanisms.

ABVP Denies Allegations

In response, ABVP dismissed the allegations as “baseless and fabricated.” The student organization said, “NSUI is rattled by ABVP’s growing popularity and is resorting to false claims.”

The contest remains intense as Delhi University braces for a decisive election day amid allegations, counterclaims, and tight security.
